The Shelburne Public Library has closed after a vote at Town Meeting on March 10, 2026, to discontinue the library.

The town thanks the many library trustees and librarians over the years, especially Melanie Devoid, Christine Baillargeon, and Kylie Murphy who worked with the Selectboard and all related agencies to ensure a proper discontinuance. 

The library space will be refurbished and utilized as a community room that can be reserved for groups and organizations to use.  

The space will continue to offer a children's reading corner and will hold historical books that the Shelburne Library held in its possession.
